Summer Party Ideas by Midori Party...

If you're planning to host a party, here are some tips to makes sure it all goes smoothly. Start by writing down a party plan. This will also help you to make sure you have everything you need to make your summer party a success. Some things to think about are the lighting, music, theme, food and drinks. Soft lighting is always best. Try some floating candles in bowls or even decorative lanterns. And remember, a summer party is always best outside, so put that backyard to use.

Picking music can be tricky. If you don't know what to play, then try some of the current hits or cool summer songs from the last 30 years. Make sure you play music that people can dance to. You could also ask your guests what types of music they like and put together a selection everyone will enjoy. Here's a hint: Play softer music at the start of the night, and then turn it up as the party gets going.

If you want to liven up your party a little (and make your choice of music easier) try having a theme. From a beach theme, to a Hawaiian party or a full-blown costume party, the only limit is your imagination - so get creative.

The next thing to consider is food. Light, fresh food is the best choice for Summer as well as simple cool dishes, like salads, fish or fruits and vegetables. To compliment these dishes, here are a few refreshing summer cocktail ideas.

The first is the Midori Illusion. For this drink you take 60ml of Midori, 15ml of Cointreau, 15 ml of Vodka and 30 ml of lemon juice and pour it into a glass. Top it up with some pineapple juice and there you have it, the Midori Illusion.

The Midori splice has fewer ingredients and is a little simpler to prepare. All this one needs is 30ml of Midori and 30ml of Coconut rum poured into a glass with ice and topped up with pineapple juice.

Try one, Try both and get your summer party off to a refreshing start with two cocktails perfectly suited to the season. It's also always a great idea to provide some summer juices or soft drink for your guests who don't drink alcohol. After all, a good party is also responsible party.
